BEN HARPER AND THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS
ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN FALL TOUR DATES
NEW ALBUM "LIFELINE" IN STORES AUGUST 28, 2007
At the end of a nine-month worldwide tour, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals went into a Paris recording studio and made their brilliant new album, Lifeline, in just seven days.
Rolling Stone calls Lifeline, “…an acoustic soul stunner…a thing of beauty.”
"I had always wanted to make a record directly coming off of a tour," say Harper. "It just makes sense. You've got all your best equipment and your musical abilities are never as sharp or as heightened as when you've been consistently on the road."
In order to best present the album, which comes out on Tuesday, August 28, Ben Harper has selected some of the most beautiful and intimate theatres in North America. In his first ever seated theatre tour, he has chosen to perform in such legendary venues as New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, Oakland’s Paramount, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and Toronto’s Massey Hall.
The band will perform songs from the brand new album, Lifeline, but also dig deep into Harper’s back catalog of soulful gems, as well as feature songs from 2004’s Grammy award winning There Will Be A Light.
Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals will perform on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on August 28, Late Night with Conan O’Brien on September 21 and The Late Show with David Letterman on October 1.
